NOAA ERD is the newest and the smallest of the three existing Chapters within Local 8A. It represents scientists and technical employees within the Emergency Response Division of the National Ocean Service of NOAA.

While being the smallest Chapter, it has the highest percentage of membership. Employees in Federal bargaining units are represented by but are not required to be members of their Union.  Only employees who become dues paying members have a voice in internal Union matters.  Local 8A dues are comparatively cheap, only $9.85 per pay period or 0.04% of your base pay, whichever is greater.  Becoming a member is easy - click on the membership page.
